The Year That Was [Almost There!]

‍2020. What a year, right? We’ve found ourselves without wine dinners, in-store tastings, and Club events, but have stayed busy adapting front-of-house operations for COVID safety and continuing to make your favorite wines behind-the-scenes.

On weekends in August through October, we popped up on our family’s Shale Creek Vineyard overlooking Keuka Lake, and we had some outdoor seating out front at our University Ave location on Saturdays. We bottled new wines [including our first single vineyard wines from Shale Creek], released out first traditional method sparkling Chardonnay after more than three years aging in bottle on lees [hint – it’s in the current club pack!], and we’ve opened up the Vault to regular reservations on select dates.

One gift 2020 gave us was beautiful summer and autumn weather. Harvest crept up on us, with our first pics [for sparkling] being a good two to three weeks earlier than in the past few years, and we’ve generally had great conditions throughout the season. We’re still waiting on one late harvest pick, but quality looks great on everything so far!
